Research Interests: I am interested in studying individuals suffering from chronic pain and functional neurological symptoms in India - to broadly explore any psychosocial factors mediating this experience and associated functional disability. I am also specifically interested in developing short term therapeutic plans that would increase engagement with therapy, adherence to medical treatment and health promoting behaviour that gradually increases functional independence, these being major problems with mental health care in India and many parts of the world. Any potential findings could then be compared with already studied populations to identify broader racial differences and guide future intervention programs.
